Career Prep: Annual Review Never Happened, Now What?

Job search takes practice – just like studying for the SAT. That’s why we came up with daily Career Prep questions to help you “study” for your job search! Here’s today’s question: Chris has been working at the same company for three years. After his last review, he was promoted to another department under a new boss. His one year anniversary in the job came and went and his new boss never gave him a review. Chris asked if he should prepare for a review and the boss said, “Yeah. We’ll get to it eventually.” Chris prepared a document and submitted it to the boss by e-mail and asked to set a date for the review. It's beginning to look a like Christmas! Well, not quite yet. But if you're looking to make some extra cash during the holiday season, now is the time to begin searching as seasonal jobs are starting to be posted.

According to the website Snagajob, 27% of companies that hire employees for the holiday season begin their recruitment efforts in August. In addition, Snagajob reports that there is money to be made during the holiday season as seasonal workers earned an average of $15.40 an hour in 2018. With that in mind, here are some options to consider if you're looking for a seasonal job for the holiday season.
