So, here's a crazy question: When would you try to negotiate salary from an employer? Everyone wants to make as much money as they can at a job, but are there situations that you would shy away from asking for a increased salary? According toThe Atlantic, women are more likely to negotiate their salary if the employer gives them the option. As for men, they appear to be the exact opposite: men are more likely to negotiate when an employer does NOT state wages are negotiable. What do you think? When would you try to negotiate salary? How do you know if you understand something?

I am a non-technical person working in an IT company. My colleagues will often tell me something technical. Sometimes I understand what they are saying. Sometimes I have no idea what they are talking about. Sometimes I think I understand what they are telling me when they are telling me, but then later I realize that I don’t understand it at all.
