Do I Take the Irrelevant Internship?

Dear Experts, I signed up at my college career center for a summer 2009 cooperative education, but I keep getting irrelevant internships that I do not want. I indicated to the coop adviser I wanted to work with non-profit organizations that have an international focus so I can learn more about international issues and it could be applicable to my academic credits (I'm an International Studies major). I recently was contacted by a literary agency for a summer internship. Should I take these kind of internships just for experience and stipend/wages, or do I apply to internships that I'm actually interested in? Our Twitter Advice Project (T.A.P.) is no longer an active campaign. To find an answer to the above question, please use the "Search" box in the right-hand column of this website.
