Have Experience But No Degree

Dear Experts, I am not sure what to do. I have extensive experience as an executive assistant, along with two years of managerial experience. I am currently unemployed. I have been applying to executive/administrative assistant jobs, in NYC, only to get rejection e-mails basically saying I'm overqualified. (At least my resume is actually being reviewed.) I am stuck in the middle. The jobs that are "above" the ones I have applied to, all require a bachelor's degree. I have only completed some college-no degree. How do I get around this? I can't even get in the door for an interview. Here is how our CAREEREALISM-Approved Experts answered this question on Twitter:Q#455 I would start/continue networking. Work contacts with people who know your skills and track record. (@gradversity) Q#455 Find a way 2 stand out by helping. "Hey, I see U R doing x. If U do y with that, it will be cheaper." (@beneubanks) Q#455 Create a hybrid doc with your admin experience at the top. keep the mgr. stuff to a minimum. (@DebraWheatman) Q#455 Tailor resume to each job for which you apply. Emphasize skills employer needs – downplay other skills. (@avitacareermanagement) Q#455 Any way you could go back to school and finish your degree? You'll earn apx. 40% more $ in the long run.
