How To Thrive During Change
Change is everywhere around us. As much as we may want to try and resist it, it’s almost impossible. After all, seasons change, children grow, we grow and that’s all part of life’s natural changes. But what about those “not so natural” changes like job changes that are thrust upon us, or even those we choose to make ourselves? What about the curve balls that life throws at us? Is it possible to actually look forward to and enjoy change? I wrote this article to not only show you how to effectively move through life’s inevitable changes but also to share how you can actually thrive during change. My grandparents owned a two-story walkup in Brooklyn, New York. When I was a child, my cousins and I would take turns asking each other questions, Trivial Pursuit style. If we got the question correct, we moved up one step on the staircase. If we got the question wrong, we moved down one step. The winner was the person who reached the top landing first. While we each enjoyed serving as the “master of ceremonies on 69th Street,” peppering each other with rapid-fire questions, I enjoyed the role of maestro the most of all my cousins. I suppose I was destined to be an educator.
