Dr. Syed Ahmed

I’m a physician and healthcare executive with 20+ years of experience in a 450 bed Hospital dedicated to excellence in healthcare quality, safety, patient experience, and cost effectiveness. My work has helped the hospital achieve top rankings including Healthgrades America’s 250 Best Hospital Awards and The Leapfrog Group “A” rating for safety in surgical procedures. My passion for patient safety has lead to increased patient satisfaction scores up to 30% and improved patient safety with my safety initiatives like executive safety rounding/morning huddle, monthly comprehensive unit based safety meetings and staff engagement. I have worked in multiple positions which include Chairman, Surgical Safety Committee, Chairman department of Anesthesia, Director of regional Anesthesia program and currently I am working as a staff Anesthesiologist. My educational background includes a Master of Science in Patient Safety from the University of Illinois, and a Master’s in Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University in PA. In his free time I enjoy hiking, traveling, playing cricket and video games with my kids, and meditation.
