Although you may be longing to visit somewhere exotic, there plenty of great locations you can visit within the country during the summer. If you live around the area, you could easily drive to some of these places to save some extra money. Of course, for the most part; these are also locations that can be flown to for a small amount of cash as well.

Atlantic City

This is a nice option whether you are going for a week long getaway or even just a day trip. Although the weather can be pretty chilly during this time of year, the beach is always a beautiful place to visit. The area has a lot to offer in terms of happy hour and nightlife options. Of course, March 3-9 is also the ‘Atlantic City Restaurant Week’, which is when you can experience some of the best of culinary experiences available. Another unique experience is that you can pay $25 ride horseback down the beach.

Baltimore, MD

Although most people probably do not realize it, Baltimore is really an underrated vacation spot. It’s known for having great Italian food and excellent crab cakes. There’s a great view throughout the city and the weather is generally enjoyable. You can enjoy the harbor over at the Baltimore Inner Harbor and grab some great seafood while you are in the area. You can also visit the National Aquarium.

New York City

It goes without saying that New York is one of the best places that you can visit at almost any point of the year. You can easily visit this great city without having to spend too much money. Hotel rooms can be found for a little under $100 a night. You should spend time here searching for sushi and pizza, or checking out the Empire State Building. You can also visit the Bronx Museum of the Arts or the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
