Due to the coronavirus outbreak, many people are staying home to keep themselves and their families safe and healthy. We are all dealing with very uncertain times. So, how can we ease our stress levels and keep our health optimal?
Here are three simple tips to reduce stress during the COVID-19 crisis.
1. Have A Daily Routine
You may want to stay in bed, sleep in, and binge-watch Netflix all day. But make sure you create some sort of schedule or routine to follow every day you're stuck at home.
Having a daily routine keeps your mindset focused and it also helps you be more productive. Set a time to wake up, a time to workout, a time to take a break from work to have lunch, etc. Just create a schedule for yourself to follow daily, so that you get back into a routine and take your mind off of the news.
2. Be Active Every Day

It's super important to get at least 30 minutes of exercise every day. This can be a specific workout, like a home workout (with or without equipment), or something as simple as walking or cleaning—anything that's going to get you moving.
You don't just want to sit on the couch all day. Especially when the weather is nice, really try to get outside and take a walk around your neighborhood to get your daily dose of vitamin D. The fresh air and physical activity will help you relax and reduce your stress.
3. Eat Healthy

It can be very tempting to snack on all the food you've bought during quarantine, have some extra meals, and not really follow a meal schedule at all. Make sure you're still eating lots of fruits and vegetables and whole grains.
Eating healthy, wholesome food is going to make you feel better in the long run. If you're eating a lot of processed foods, you will get tired and you will crave those unhealthy foods more. It also doesn't help your immune system.
Poor nutrition will only make your stress worse! Try to eat as healthy as you can, and your body will thank you.
We could all use some helpful tips to reduce stress during this pandemic. So, eat your healthy foods, stay active, set a daily routine, and keep a positive mindset!
