Ever walk out of a job interview knowing you totally bombed it? It's not a great feeling. In fact, all you want to do is crawl into bed, hide under a pillow, and wish it never happened. Screwing up a job interview isn't the end of the world, even though it might feel like it at first. But how can you bounce back?
1. Grieve.
Allow yourself a little time to sulk. Get it out of your system. You're upset, you feel a lot of emotions, and you just need to get it out. With that said, do NOT go out and tell the world you're a major screw up - it will not help your personal brand. Instead of unloading all of your emotions on everyone, choose one person and confide in them. Tell him or her you need to vent, share how you feel, and talk things through. Get it out of your system, but don't broadcast it to the world.2. Move on.
You get one full day to grieve. After that, it's time to move on. Pick yourself up and get back out there. This will help you reframe your mindset and give you a game plan that will help you do better next time. Make use of this experience. Learn from it. Grow. Remember, what doesn't kill us makes us stronger!3. Reward yourself.
You might think it sounds crazy, but it's important to reward yourself for a job well done - even after screwing up a job interview!
