Best Friend Wants Me to Be Referral & Lie, What Do I Do?

Dear Experts, My best friend of 10 years just got let go. They told her it was for performance and attitude. I think she is very funny, but does have the kind of sense of humor I could see being annoying and possible offensive to people who don't know her as well as I do. She applied for a job and got interviewed. Now, she wants me to be her reference and rave about her. I'm struggling with this. Of course I want her to get hired, but we work in the same industry, so I don't want my reputation to get ruined. Our Twitter Advice Project (T.A.P.) is no longer an active campaign. To find an answer to the above question, please use the "Search" box in the right-hand column of this website.
