Is getting ready in the morning a hassle? Are you too busy trying to get everyone else ready so you end up doing it for yourself last minute? Well, don’t feel bad. You’re not alone. There are so many things going on when we start our day, we tend to put ourselves last and run out the door with a wing and a prayer.

Unfortunately, what you wear tends to be one of those things that fall by the wayside. I’m here to rescue you from the “I don’t care what I look like. I just need to get out of the door” woes. Here are three things you can do that will lead to less stress and more time in the morning:

1. Choose What You’re Wearing The Night Before

This is key but it’s simple. Before you go to bed, pop into your closet and decide what you are wearing the next day and hang it in a particular place. This allows you to put thought into your outfit, and the way you look. You can also make sure it’s clean and doesn’t need ironing. Go ahead and pick out accessories and shoes as well.

2. Pack Your Car With Things You Need For The Next Day

It is so helpful! If I need to take food, supplies or items needed for errands, I put those in my car before I go to bed. It’s one less thing you must do the next morning.

3. Put To-Dos On A Sticky Note And Put It On The Door

I know this sounds a little OCD and yes, I am, but this way I don’t forget things. So, if I need to pick up something at the dry cleaners after work but before I work out, I have a little reminder. Don’t you hate getting home and then realizing you forgot to do something?

Try this every day for a week and see how it goes. I can personally attest that if you do these things, you will have more time in the morning to talk to your family, pet your cat, or just start the day with a smile on your face. And isn’t that the way we should be?
