By now, those who have the ability to work from home have been working remotely for months due to COVID-19. If you love working from home, or would like to find a job with that remote flexibility, you should check out these three companies that have implemented permanent work from home for their employees.

There are many other companies who have extended work from home until 2021, like Google, Indeed, and Amazon corporate. But the following three companies have made remote work part of their company culture. It's no longer the exception. It's the rule.

Does working from home for the foreseeable future sound appealing to you? Try applying for a job at one of these companies.

Shopify

Shopify, a multinational e-commerce company, announced back in May that it would allow employees to work from home permanently. Chief Executive Officer of Shopify, Tobi Lutke, said, "Office centricity is over," in a tweet about the new policy.

For many of us, that statement is true. Some professionals may want to go back to the office eventually, full-time or for a few days a week. But if you don't have a burning desire to go back to the office after the COVID-19 pandemic runs its course, a career at Shopify could be something to consider.

The company employs over 5,000 workers, and is looking to hire for dozens of open positions.

Zillow

Zillow, the popular online real estate database company, recently announced that it would allow 90% of its employees to work from home indefinitely, despite resisting remote work in the past.

The change in tone is even more interesting when you look at their operating lease costs, which were over $29 million in 2019. Dan Spaulding, Zillow's chief people officer, acknowledges those spaces will be there for individuals to work and collaborate with team members once it is safe for them to do so, but it won't be necessary for every employee to return to those spaces. Ultimately, the value of office space is changing, too.

Square

Square, Inc. is a mobile payment company that also provides financial and merchant services. Considering Jack Dorsey is the CEO of Square, it's no surprise that they, too, have announced permanent work from home for their employees, like Twitter.

Depending on their job, not every one of the 3,000 Square employees can work remotely. But the vast majority can and (probably) will continue to do so even after COVID-19 is no longer a threat.
